Karaoke Styler

Hear your lyric beat by beat — the way a karaoke screen lights it up.

Paste a verse and the stage advances word by word, exactly the way a karaoke screen does. Pick a speed and hit Play. Lines that look fine on paper often reveal themselves as un-singable clumps once you watch the cursor move. Free, runs in your browser.

Your lyric

Paste a verse or chorus, one line per row. The stage rehearses the first 30 lines.

Each word holds the same time slice. Real songs stretch long vowels — this is a timing check, not a click track.

What a karaoke run-through shows

Reading a line is not singing it. The animated cursor exposes four things your eye skips on the page.

Pacing per word

Watch the cursor sweep a line of ten words in five seconds and you feel exactly how dense it is. Slow speed is the microscope — every rushed syllable slows to a crawl.

Where you rush

Three multi-syllable words back to back is where every singer speeds up. The run-through makes those clusters jump off the page, instead of surprising you in the booth.

Breath placement

Lines with no natural pause read like one long sentence. The cursor shows you where you would have to gasp — and that is usually where a line break belongs.

Verse vs. chorus balance

Run your verse and your chorus at the same speed. If the verse takes twice as long, your arrangement has a pacing problem no amount of mixing will fix.

Singable line vs. clumped line

Same job, sung at normal speed. One lets the singer breathe, the other makes them run.

SingableClumped
“I walk home slow, shoes full of rain”eight short words, a pause built in“I am slowly walking myself homewards with completely soaked footwear”twelve words, no place to breathe
“Neon, buzz, Friday”three words, hit each one like a drum“The neon illumination is buzzing as we approach Friday evening”the cursor barely touches the long words

The right column is grammatically fine. Sung at 0.5 seconds a word, it falls apart. That is the whole point of rehearsing it this way.

How to use it

Ten seconds, no account, no audio file needed.

  1. Paste a verse or chorus, one line per row
  2. Pick a speed that roughly matches your song, then hit Play
  3. Watch the red cursor — lines where it never slows down are your rewrite list

What this tool can not do

It treats every word as equal time. Real singing stretches long vowels, swallows short ones, and leans on the beat. A line that reads too dense here may actually sing fine over a slow groove. Use it to spot obvious clumps, then trust your voice.

It will not sync to your demo track or your microphone. This is a dry run of the lyric, not a recording booth.

About this tool

Built by Alex, the one-person operation behind FreeLyricsAI. I kept drafting verses that read clean on paper, then fell apart the moment I tried to sing them into my phone. A karaoke screen is the oldest trick in the world for showing that — so I built a tiny one that runs on your own lyric, no video required.

It runs entirely in your browser and the timer stops the second you leave the tab. The word-splitting rule lives in the page source — steal it, adjust the speeds, and tell me where it rushes you.

Built by Alex at FreeLyricsAI as a timing rehearsal. Word timing is a flat, equal slice by design; your actual tempo comes from the beat, not this page. Your words, your call.
